Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Smile Xplorer ("This Platform"), a browser-based webapp that offers tools, games, and informational features. It describes what information may be involved, why, and what choices you have, based on how This Platform works at the time of writing. Please read it together with the Terms of Service and the Third-Party and APIs page.
If you do not agree with this policy, please stop using This Platform. Whether continued use of This Platform amounts to legally valid consent depends on the law that applies to you.
Our Approach
This Platform is designed to be used without creating an account and without asking you for personal information. At present, This Platform does not sell personal information. This policy describes current practices, and it will be updated as necessary before any new feature that changes how information is handled becomes available.
Information We Collect
At the time of writing, This Platform does not offer user accounts, profiles, user uploads, or private messaging, so this policy does not describe information collected through such features. The information described below may be involved when you use This Platform.
Information You Provide Directly
- Contact Messages: If you contact This Platform through the Contact page, you may provide details such as your name, email address, and the content of your message
- Information Stored on Your Device: Features you use may save information such as progress, scores, or preferences in your browser. See the Browser Storage & Caching section for details
Information Processed Automatically
- Technical Request Data: When you load pages or use features, technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages or resources requested may be processed by hosting providers, network providers, and third-party services involved in delivering the webapp. See the Third-Party Services section for details
If analytics, advertising, or similar tools are added in the future, this policy will be updated before they are used.
How We Use Information
Information involved in using This Platform may be used to:
- Operate and deliver the tools, games, and features of This Platform
- Allow features to remember your progress or preferences on your own device
- Respond to messages you send through the Contact page
- Maintain the security and reliability of This Platform and investigate technical problems
- Comply with applicable legal requirements
No Sale of Personal Information
At present, This Platform does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. If this changes, this policy will be updated before the change takes effect.
Browser Storage & Caching
Most features that save information do so in your browser so that they can work between visits. This information is kept on your own device. Features that require sign-in may be introduced in the future and may store user data on a server. If that happens, this policy will be updated as necessary before those features launch.
What Is Used
- IndexedDB: The main browser storage used by features that save progress, scores, preferences, or similar feature data
- Local storage: Used as a fallback where IndexedDB is not available
- Temporary caching of third-party data: Some features temporarily cache data retrieved from third-party APIs in your browser to avoid repeated requests. This cached data is always kept in your browser on your device, not on a server operated by This Platform. No fixed retention period is stated for cached data
- Reading tools: The reading tools on policy pages may save display preferences such as theme or text size, and any bookmarks or highlights you create, in your browser
What Is Not Currently Used
Session storage and cookies are not currently used by the features of This Platform itself, although they may be introduced in the future. Third-party services connected to This Platform may use their own cookies or similar technologies. See the Cookies & Tracking section.
Your Control and the Limits of Storage
- Information saved in your browser is stored on your device and is not backed up by This Platform
- Clearing your browser data, changing browsers or devices, or using private browsing may remove it, and browsers may also delete stored data on their own in some situations
- Other people who use the same device and browser profile may be able to access it
Keep Your Own Copies
Please keep your own copies of anything important to you. Stored progress or settings may be lost and cannot be guaranteed.
Data Sharing & Disclosure
Information may be processed by others, or disclosed, only in the limited situations described below.
Service Providers and Third Parties
Hosting providers, network providers, and third-party services involved in delivering the webapp may receive technical data as described in the Third-Party Services section. They handle that data under their own terms and policies.
Legal Requirements
Information may be disclosed when required by applicable law, regulation, court order, or other valid legal process.
Protection of This Platform and Others
Information may be used or disclosed where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of This Platform, its users, or the public, for example to investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
With Your Agreement
Information may be shared with a third party where you ask for or agree to that sharing.
Contact Forms & Email Communication
If you contact This Platform through the Contact page, you may provide information such as your name, email address, and message content. This information is used to respond to your enquiry, provide support, or deal with your request. Messages sent through the Contact page are processed using a third-party form or email delivery service, which handles them under its own terms and privacy policy. Please do not include sensitive personal information in your message.
Third-Party Services & APIs
Some features of This Platform rely on third-party services and APIs that are not owned or operated by This Platform. More information is available on the Third-Party and APIs page.
Independent Operations
Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. This Platform does not control how they collect, store, or process data, and cannot state their practices on their behalf. Please review the policies of any third-party service you use through This Platform.
What May Be Sent to Third Parties
When a feature retrieves information from a third-party API, your browser or the webapp may send a request that contains technical data (such as your IP address and browser details) together with the details needed for the feature, for example a search term or an item identifier. The exact data sent differs between services and features.
Caching of Third-Party Data
To avoid repeated requests, some features temporarily cache data returned by third-party APIs in your browser. This cache is always kept on your own device. Cached third-party content remains subject to the rights and terms of its owner or provider. See the Browser Storage & Caching section.
IP Address & Network Data
Your IP address and other technical request data are processed as a normal part of internet communication. Hosting providers and third-party services involved in delivering this webapp may receive and process this data. This Platform itself does not keep IP addresses or request logs. Hosting providers and third-party services may still process this data under their own policies, which This Platform does not control.
No Responsibility for Third-Party Practices
This Platform does not own or control the services integrated into it, and data processed by those services is subject to their policies, not this one.
Your Rights & Choices
Because This Platform does not currently offer accounts, most choices relate to your own browser and device.
Control Over Data on Your Device
You can clear information stored by This Platform in your browser at any time through your browser's settings, including IndexedDB and local storage data. You can also block or delete cookies, and this may affect how some features work.
Questions and Requests
If you have a question about this policy, or you want to ask about personal information that This Platform may hold about you (for example, a message you sent through the Contact page), please use the Contact page. Depending on where you live and the circumstances, applicable data protection law may give you rights, such as asking for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information. Whether a request can be fulfilled depends on the law that applies and on what information is actually held. Some information may need to be kept where the law requires it or for security reasons.
Advertisements
No Advertising at Present
This Platform does not currently display advertisements. This reflects the position at the date of this policy.
Possible Future Advertising
Advertising may be introduced in the future. If it is:
- Advertising may be supplied by third-party advertising providers
- Those providers may use cookies or similar technologies, subject to their own privacy practices and applicable requirements
- This policy and the Third-Party and APIs page will be updated as necessary before advertising begins, including with information about the providers involved and the choices available to you
Reporting Concerns
This Platform does not currently provide in-app reporting or moderation tools. If you notice something that appears to breach the Terms of Service, or you have a privacy or security concern, you may tell This Platform through the Contact page.
Reports are reviewed where reasonably possible. A specific response, timeframe, or outcome cannot be guaranteed.
Data Security
Reasonable steps are taken to protect This Platform, but no system is completely secure, and absolute protection against all threats cannot be guaranteed. This policy does not describe specific security measures, and none should be assumed.
Information saved in your browser depends partly on the security of your own device and browser. Third-party services connected to This Platform are responsible for the security of their own systems.
If a data breach affecting personal information held by This Platform occurs, any notification will follow the requirements of applicable law.
Content Availability
Reasonable efforts are made to keep This Platform running reliably, but availability cannot be guaranteed.
- Features, content, and third-party integrations may change, fail, or become unavailable at any time
- Information saved in your browser, such as progress, scores, or preferences, may be lost
- Information supplied by third-party services may be incomplete, outdated, or unavailable
Keep Your Own Copies
Please keep your own copies of anything important to you, and do not rely on This Platform as the only place where you store information.
International Users
Data protection laws differ between countries and regions, and some places give individuals specific rights over personal information. Whether any such law applies to you or to This Platform depends on your circumstances and on the law concerned. This policy does not state or imply that This Platform has been assessed as compliant with any particular law.
If you are in a region with specific privacy rights and want to ask about them, you may contact This Platform through the Contact page. Requests are considered according to the law that applies.
Hosting providers and third-party services used by This Platform may process data in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ. This policy does not specify where that processing takes place.
Data Retention
How long information is kept depends on where it is stored:
- Information stored in your browser stays on your device until you clear it or your browser removes it
- Cached third-party data is intended to be temporary, but no specific retention period is stated in this policy
- Messages sent through the Contact page may be kept for as long as reasonably needed to deal with your enquiry, and no specific retention period has been set
- IP addresses and request logs are not kept by This Platform itself. Hosting and third-party providers may process technical data according to their own policies
You may ask about information that This Platform holds about you through the Contact page. Some information may be kept longer where required by law, to resolve a dispute or investigation, to enforce the Terms of Service, or for security and fraud prevention.
Children's Privacy
This Platform is intended for people who are at least 13 years old. Thirteen is not the applicable age everywhere. Some countries and regions set a higher minimum age for online services or require parental consent before a child's personal information is collected. This policy does not claim compliance with the child-privacy laws of every jurisdiction.
This Platform is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children below the age that applies to them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent personal information, please contact This Platform through the Contact page, and reasonable steps will be taken to review the matter and remove the information where appropriate.
Before sign-up, authentication, subscriptions, donations, or advertising are introduced, the age policy and the handling of younger users' information will be reviewed, and this policy and the Terms of Service will be updated as necessary.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to This Platform, its features, or the law. The updated version will be published on this page, and the "Last updated" date will be changed to show when the current version took effect.
Notifications of changes are not promised, so you may wish to review this page from time to time. If you do not agree with an updated policy, you should stop using This Platform.

Google Analytics
Smile Xplorer uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors interact with the website and to help improve its content, features, usability, and performance.
Information Collected
Depending on your consent choices and the actual website configuration, Google Analytics may collect information such as pages visited, page titles and URLs, referral sources, interactions with website features, approximate geographic information, browser and device information, timestamps, engagement events, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies.
When your browser connects to Google's services, technical information such as your IP address and the URL of the page you visit may be transmitted to Google. Google Analytics' standard processing does not involve logging or storing individual IP addresses in its reports as ordinary Analytics data. However, this does not mean that an IP address is never transmitted to Google's servers or processed temporarily, including to derive approximate geographic information.
Smile Xplorer uses Analytics to understand website traffic, identify popular pages and features, evaluate usage patterns, and inform future improvements. We do not intentionally configure Google Analytics to collect directly identifying personal information, and we do not intentionally send passwords, payment details, or other sensitive personal information to Google Analytics.
Consent and Cookie Preferences
Smile Xplorer's cookie-consent manager is designed to keep its managed Google Analytics integration disabled until you grant consent to the Analytics category. Before a consent choice is recorded, analytics storage and advertising-related consent signals are configured to default to denied. The managed Analytics integration is intended to load only when the Analytics category is enabled.
If you reject optional technologies, leave Analytics disabled, or withdraw your Analytics consent, the consent manager is designed to prevent further Analytics measurement through its managed integration. However, this behavior depends on the implementation working as intended. Separately installed Google tags, Google Tag Manager containers, or other tracking scripts may not be controlled by the consent manager unless they are explicitly integrated with the appropriate consent controls. The behavior of the live website must therefore be verified to establish whether all relevant tracking technologies respect your choice.
The consent manager may use browser local storage to remember your preferences. The saved consent choice is configured to remain valid for up to 180 days, subject to the consent manager's validation rules and implementation. This period applies to remembering your consent choice; it is separate from Google Analytics tracking storage and Google's retention of Analytics data.
Where the website provides a Cookie preferences control, you can use it to review, change, or withdraw your optional consent. The availability and behavior of this control depend on the website's implementation. Withdrawing consent is intended to prevent subsequent Analytics measurement through the managed integration. It cannot reverse information already transmitted to Google or, by itself, delete data previously collected by Google.
Necessary Storage
Necessary browser storage may be used to remember your consent choice and support the operation of the consent manager. The consent manager uses this preference storage to maintain your choice rather than for analytics or advertising purposes. Essential website functions may also use their own browser storage where required for their operation. The actual purpose of any storage depends on the component that uses it.
Third-Party Processing and International Transfers
Google processes information collected through Google Analytics under its applicable terms, privacy policies, and data-processing arrangements. As a third-party service provider, Google may process information under its own practices and applicable safeguards. Depending on the services and processing arrangements involved, information may be processed in countries other than the country from which you access Smile Xplorer.
For more information about Google's handling of information from websites and apps that use its services, please review How Google Uses Information from Sites or Apps That Use Our Services and Google's Privacy Policy.
Data Retention and Control
The retention of information collected by Google Analytics depends on the applicable Google Analytics settings and policies, including the event-data retention period configured for the Analytics property. Smile Xplorer's 180-day consent validity period applies to the saved browser consent choice. It does not establish how long Google retains Analytics data.
The current retention period configured for Smile Xplorer's Google Analytics property has not been independently verified as part of this disclosure. Google's actual retention settings should be checked in Google Analytics under Admin, within the data collection and modification or data settings area, under Data retention.
You can manage cookies and other browser storage through your browser settings. You can also use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to help prevent Google Analytics measurement in supported browsers. These controls are separate from Smile Xplorer's cookie preferences and may not control every form of data collection by other third-party services.
Advertising and Other Tracking Technologies
Smile Xplorer's consent-manager configuration includes an Advertising preference category for possible future use. The presence of this category does not, by itself, establish whether advertising integrations or other advertising-related scripts are active elsewhere on the website. Their presence and behavior must be checked against the deployed site before making a definitive statement about advertising-related tracking.
If advertising integrations, additional analytics tools, embedded third-party services, or other tracking technologies are introduced or activated, Smile Xplorer will review the relevant consent controls and update this disclosure as appropriate. The actual collection and processing of information depend on the technologies deployed and their implementation and configuration.
